Peanut Cookies - Happy Lunar New Year 2013!

Spring Festival is just around the corner; oops I mean tomorrow!
Happy Lunar New Year!
Not like I really care actually lol, and right now I am away from home, which makes me don't really feel the 'festivity'. The only thing that makes me care about the Spring Festival is my family and I really miss them :(
What I miss are cookies and the food my Mom cook for this season! And I cant have them D: I can buy some similar cookies and ingredients from Chinatown though, but meh, don't have the time to do all of this.
Well, but I still want to bake something! Love baking although I am not a good baker ;P
So I managed to squeeze some time to bake one of my favourite cookies, Peanut Cookies! These addictive cookies are buttery-soft, crumbly and full with peanut goodness. I have plans for other snacks as well, but still haven't had the time to get the ingredients. And since I managed to get some yummy unsalted peanuts off the nearby grocery shelves, it was viable to make Peanut Cookies. I have basically all the other ingredients needed at home in my Laboratory (kitchen) :D
I just googled up some recipes but didnt follow the amounts they specified. Just took a gist of the basic ingredients. Note, this is my first attempt making peanut cookies ;;
Unsalted peanuts
Plain flour
Icing sugar
Butter as shortening
Salt
Sunflower oil (my own choice since that's the only oil I have in my Laboratory other than Olive Oil, Truffle Olive Oil and Vegetable Oil...)
Egg
Frying the peanuts~
Flecks of brown appeared~
Blend to pulverize~
I used blender coz I dont have mixer/processor D: Scary ... but it works! Then again, never try doing this using $15 blender! Use a high powered and reliable blender to blend such food if you are planning to use blender.
Mix all dry ingredients~

No pictures of mixing with oil and butter :P
Roll out cookies and decorate with a half-peanut! Glaze with beaten egg!

This recipe is so unhealthy lol. But I thought this was only once in awhile occasion I would make this cookie, so it's alright. I have even stop having peanut butter on my bread.

And they actually turned out quite yummy! I am proud of myself haha

Soft Lemon Cake

I was and am never a good baker, but I still love baking ;_;
Bake every now and then, and here, another midnight baking!
Because I feel like baking. Feel like cake *
I used lite soy milk instead of dairy milk for the batter~
Some soft lemon cake to enjoy at midnight~ Don't feel like icing now, so no icing (｡・・｡)

Side note, the Lunar New Year is approaching soon and I have yet to prepare any snacks for the festive season! D: I really want to bake some festive snacks. Hopefully I will have some time to buy the ingredients I need from Asian grocery stores!

Sew Sew Diary in my Atelier - I

For those who sew, you will understand how much having a sewing machine by your side means to you.
I have felt so isolated for awhile now after being separated from my Mom's old model Brother sewing machine... and has been looking for another sewing machine here (away from home) for sometime now also. New ones are so expensive and read bad reviews on the cheapest ones I could find. So, I have always look at auction second hand ones - means they are always older models, and specifically Janome and Husqvarna. I have grown to like older models for their design and long-lastingness/durability. But! I've never won a bid D; And they are always located so far away and cannot be shipped ;___;
I almost resorted to buying a new model Brother sewing machine, an alternative choice; when I found this beautiful vintage Husqvarna!! ♥
The seller included so many accessories together with the machine - even an vintage solid carry case! I instantly texted her on the day she posted her ad and picked it up from her the next morning before anyone else could get it! It was such a bargain for a machine that is still in working condition; but may need some service...which I hope would not cost alot ;_;
This little thing is so heavy...did not expect it to be almost as heavy as an 240V amp oTL Never though portable old machines are this heavy lol.
This machine looks complicated to learn how to use! Luckily the owner still kept the instruction manual, for more than 20 years!
So happy to finally have one of my dream machines home with me~
Let's hope my experience would be good with this beauty! ♥

Inspiration?

I haven't been drawing for a long time :(
Which is a worrying thing to me; it feels like I lack inspiration.
So I took some initiative to start sketching again few days ago.
Evern, my most favourite OC and one of my oldest OC in my life, since I was 2nd grade in primary school(?). She is like a time and dimension traveler to me lol. Coz she makes appearance almost in all of my stories as one of the characters in there, either main or side characters.
But some things always stay the same: she is a red-headed (although the tone is always different), red coloured eye, practises and uses magic, have a childlike body and appearance, has a twin brother (Efrain) and has a sleeping third eye on her forehead. I think I should write about her third eye in another post though lol.
Getting the inspiration to start sketching her again coz I have finally found the (almost) perfect doll sculpt (SD-sized) for both Evern and Efrain, they are one of the rare cases of identical twins but different gender ;) . Both of them are always in my list of must-own BJDs. Hope to have them home with me soon ;_;

New coloured lenses ! (◕‿◕✿ฺ)♡ The DollyEye and Twilight series; DollyEye is my favourite next to Geo because they don't give super goldfish enlarging eyes effect (´∀｀；) Hopefully I can do some lens review when I start trying them on!

These were the only shopping loots I've got during last Boxing Day, the other shops that I wanted to enter were so crowded and had really long queues outside ( ´д｀ll)
Northern Lights & Golden Wonder Bath Ballistic ⌒★ Can't wait to see the whimsical-ness of bath time! ♪
Golden Wonder Bath Ballistic apparently unwraps really magical surprise! I was so excited ♥
Northern Lights is an amazing soap *w* Just look at the colours, so magical, and it glows in the dark too! When you soak it, its glittery! The smell is refreshing; but I am not a big fan of cypress and lime scent. I got it mainly coz of the colours !

Golden Wonder is so gorgeous; love the smell, the colours and the surprise! Definitely my favourite Lush Bath Bomb! ♥ I am regretting not getting more of this when its on sale ;A; Now, I have to wait until next Christmas...

High Tea at Royal on the Park

Had my first high tea of the year at this beautiful restaurant, The Walnut Restaurant and Bar two weeks ago.
Spending hours here was just lovely, the place and atmosphere are beautiful!
Their high tea set was gorgeous. Three-tiered of delicate and delicious goodies.
The scones are so yummy! Delicate and soft, and served with jam and clotted cream
Cream is one of my favourite parts ♥
The sandwiches are super lovely and delicious too. Salmon sandwiches and ham and cheese sandwiches. I didn't expect them to be so filling!
Variety of yummy fresh fruits. Had these the last, as they were at the top of the tier. I didn't like the strawberries though :| Was quite sour...
They had a wide variety of drinks to choose from! Ranging from orange juice, teas to coffee. Not to mention bubbly champagne *A* The drinks themselves already made my stomach filling lol

We were being served Moet&Chandon; how more gorgeous can this high tea be~ delicious! ♥
The petit fours that were served. All were so yummy and delicate! The macarons especially!
My Al was here with us to enjoy the high tea too!

Despite the bad reviews I've read online, I find my experience with them to be really pleasant and classy. Customer service was great and the food was wonderful. The waiter that serve us was really kind, thank you so much! The ambience was wonderful too. Located next to the botanical gardens added to the atmosphere too. I was surprised there weren't many people who were dining at the time we were there. But that adds to our experience as well hehe
Would definitely love to dine here again; for their other meals and their high tea again! Thank you for the luxurious experience!

Have been wanting to get back to blogging, but everytime I want to do it, I will feel lazy =___=
But here it is, first post of 2013! Still within January lol
Playing with the toaster's heat this morning when making breakfast; 3 different colours ~ Toast and fresh blend carrot juice.
I havent taken alot of pictures of Eri lately; I think its probably coz of the face-up. Rainy season is here and its not good for a face-up session in my opinion :( I've got Eri a new wig! The colour is so pretty, and I've noticed that this wig went out of stock after I ordered. So, lucky me! Been looking for this colour for awhile now and so happy I got it now ♥
The face-up just doesnt compliment the wig colour :| Need to change the face-up soon!
Note that Eri's original hair colour is white; and I've never thought of getting any other wig colours for Eri. So this means that I 've got this wig with an objective of course~ ;D The first step of THE project has started!
