Making of Geta(My Giita TT_TT)

I think I should write a post about my props making... so here it is~ the making of my 'Geta' (my Giita/Gitah...) TT_TT a very sad one... coz i'm too poor to afford a real LP guitar, but i'm still planning to get one. I actually planned to make this few months back, and actually wanted to make it for my Hirasawa Yui cosplay debut during Daicon. But what pulled me back was because there wasnt enough time to finish it for Daicon....but the main reason was I felt really demotivated to make it... after seeing the real thing.... and so many other Yui cosers were holding real sunburst LP guitars TT_TT Then lalala~ I never want to make it anymore....until AFA announced that K-On seiyuus will be AFA. Me and Momo of course became so excited and she became so dedicated and motivated to start on her 'Elizaba'(fake version of Mio's 'Elizabeth' Fender bass....). She was working so hard on it... and that motivates me too TTATT And so I finally started on mine a week before AFA....which was quite last minute ;;
I followed true to the real measurement of a LP standard guitar...and means that I can say that the measurements are accurate to a real one(minus my bad measuring and estimating skills... ;;). The bottom part of the neck is also half-rounded. Oh ya, and my tuning pegs are turnable! oTL Finding the correct paint colour was the hardest part.... I actually didnt managed to find the correct colour... for the top base, I used 3 different colours, and blended them to achieve the gradient x_x However, I was actually quite satisfied with the outcome ^^v
For the straps...I actually used cloth belts... maybe getting a real guitar strap would be better ;;
Ahh! I want to thank my brother so muchh!!! He helped me so much with the screws and nails TT^TT He was the one who helped me most at the final stage, fixing the stuffs together. Although he said that he was just helping me coz he wants to smash it (like those in PVs and movies...) after the whole thing is completed.... he really really helped out alot! Coz my fingers were going to be sore soon ;;
Now on to the pictures first~
After drawing and tracing out the bridge, pickups, tailpiece, pickguard, the body base blabla... cut cut... glue glue....
Make holes, put the screws into them...
After the tuning pegs and switch dry up~ painting time.
Painted the knobs as well.... sorryyy my knobs lack details... super last minute work oTL, and thus they became 'mushrooms'... I shall make them turnable next time too ;;
traced and cut another layer for the body...
Make more holes on that layer x_x I stupidly make the holes manually with scissors oTL my brother said that I'm so 'pro' for doing that ==
And my strap buttons... I cut the pencil into half... ==;;
Aluminium wraps-touch ups on the bridge, pickups, tailpiece, strap buttons and tuning pegs ;;
Sorry... I didnt take any photos on the building of the body and neck... as I already dont have the time for taking pictures...
so...skip to the last part of touching up.
In the hotel room, AFA Day2 morning. I woke up earlier in the morning to finish the final parts as I was already dead to work on Day1 night, almost burn my hands with hot glue several times. Strung the guitar with wires(I know it looks cheap...), made the nut, stuck the pegs, pickguard, knobs, inlays and linings onto the body...

hmm...okie... I didnt make that, okie? That guitar belongs to Andrew, a really awesome and nice person!! He lend me his guitar and he let me hold it for a few hours! TTATT Omg... my expression and reaction must be really stunned and funny when he took out his guitar from his bag and showed it to me.....TTATT I really really dont know how to thank you enough.... thanks thanks a million! I was really happy.... but too bad it didnt get to be autographed by the K-On seiyuus ;_; Oh ya, the credits to Andrew for the photo above ^^
