I have been and is still hooked onto Black Diamond, and when I say this, I mean the indies version XDXD since the first day the torrent is out! Black Diamond is such an awesome song, although I actually expected something more rockish, but I think its great enough since Shugo-Chara was meant to be a more kiddish manga/anime XD.
Personally, I think Black Diamond is much better than the previous Meikyuu Butterfly, coz Utau's voice suits this song so much better!! Oh yes, Black Diamond is by Hoshina Utau...I prefer Tsukiyomi Utau, which is actually her real name, and voiced by the talented Mizuki Nana! XDXD I just love her voice so much....she's a really good voice actress and singer~
The Major version isnt really to my liking coz firstly, the background music is weird and secondly, it doesnt goes with the song. Yes, I always thought that Black Diamond was of a more rock band, but they inserted techno-ish or electronica-ish music in there, and it just doesnt go with Utau's voice. Although I should say I like the violin parts(by Ikuto! XD) but the violin just appeared in the beginning and the ending of the song ><. The Indies version is so so so much better, and resembles so much of the Black Diamond I have always imagined!! XD and I'm so happy they actually used the Indies version for Black Diamond's first appearance in the anime~ but sadly there's no violin part in the Indies....
Another thing~ the cover art for the CD packagings are so pretty! Especially the limited edition one! XD Although I was quite disappointed with the font they used on the cover...and the wordings are a too big..., Ikuto brights up the cover~! I actually thought that they would follow the CD design in the manga(the 'X' design, and if they did, that would so cool!), but they didnt, oh well~ the real CD design is still pretty! Yay~loves Utau and Ikuto! XD and Mizuki Nana~
